You know Reels are useful. You know you probably should be making more of them.
But somehow you're still filming clips that live permanently in your camera roll, wondering what on earth to say, or spending 45 minutes editing something that gets 12 views.
Reels Rookies is our practical, in-person workshop designed to make Reels feel a lot less complicated.
No pressure. No pretending you love Instagram.
No dancing. Unless you want to.

Monday 12th October
10am - 1pm
Trunkwell House, Reading
£60 per person (£55 earlybird)
And Introducing 6 VIPP spaces
Perhaps you've avoided them altogether because being on camera makes you want to crawl inside your own jumper.
Perhaps you are making them, but every Reel becomes a tiny production involving twelve takes, three apps and mild rage.
Or maybe you can technically make one, but you're still wondering:
- What should I actually make a Reel about?
- How do I get people to stop scrolling?
- Do I need to use trends?
- Why is everyone suddenly talking about Edits?
- What do I put on the screen?
- What am I supposed to say at the end?
This workshop is for the small business owner who wants Reels to become a useful marketing tool, rather than another item sitting accusingly on the to-do list.
You do not need to become a content creator.
You need to know how to make simple, effective Reels that work for your business.

Three hours of practical, hands-on learning with time to actually create, not just listen.

MAKE REELS PEOPLE WANT TO WATCH
Understand what matters on Reels now, how Instagram decides what to show people and why you absolutely do not need to go viral for a Reel to do its job.
WRITE BETTER HOOKS
Those first few seconds matter. We'll show you how to turn generic hooks into something that makes the right person stop scrolling.
KNOW WHAT KIND OF REEL TO MAKE
B-roll, talking to camera, behind the scenes, educational content, storytelling, trends… You'll learn what the different formats are and, much more importantly, when to use them.
TURN IDEAS INTO ACTUAL CONTENT
We'll help you build your Reel around one simple formula: Hook → one clear idea → call to action. No Oscar-winning screenplay required.
GET TO GRIPS WITH EDITS
We'll take you inside Instagram's Edits app and show you practical features including voiceovers, the teleprompter, beats, green screen and templates.
CREATE A REEL DURING THE WORKSHOP
This isn't three hours of us talking at you. You'll plan, film and/or edit during the session so you can leave with at least one Reel drafted, scheduled or ready to finish.
You don't need fancy transitions.
You don't need to spend your evenings hunting for trending audios.
And you definitely don't need to suddenly develop a burning desire to point at floating text.
One clear message beats clever editing every time.

You'll leave with:
A straightforward Reel formula you can use again and again
Better Reel ideas for your business
Hooks you can actually use
A clearer understanding of storytelling and what makes people connect
The confidence to use B-roll, talking-head Reels, voiceovers and other formats
Practical knowledge of Instagram's Edits app
A much better idea of what makes a Reel worth watching
At least one Reel started, drafted or ready to post
And most importantly?
Reels should feel considerably less bloody complicated.
Sometimes the difficult bit isn't learning how to do something.
It's getting home three days later, opening Instagram and thinking:
“…what did Robyn and Laura say about this again?”
So for the first time, we're offering six VIPP places with additional support after the workshop.

For the two weeks following the workshop, you'll be able to send us your Reels and get our eyes on them.
Need feedback on your hook before you post it?
Not sure whether the Reel makes sense?
Recorded a talking-head Reel and need someone to tell you whether to stop doing take number 19?
Can't work out something in Edits?
Want us to look at the finished thing before you press publish?
Send it over.
We'll be there to help you put what you've learned into practice while it's still fresh.

Because between us, you get strategy AND real-world small business experience.
We don't teach social media as if your full-time job is creating content.
We know you have clients to serve, products to sell, emails to answer, accounts to do and approximately 425 other things demanding your attention.
Laura brings more than 20 years of marketing experience across brands, agencies and small businesses, alongside hands-on experience managing social media accounts and seeing what actually gets results.
Robyn brings more than a decade of building and marketing her own businesses, and knows exactly what it looks like to use Instagram when you're also responsible for running the actual business behind it.
Together, we're here to make marketing feel practical, manageable and considerably less boring.
This isn't a conference where you'll sit at the back watching someone click through 96 slides.
Our workshops are kept small because we want you to be able to:
Ask questions about your business
Get help when you're stuck
Practise while we're there
Have us look at what you're creating
Meet other local business owners without needing a name badge and a networking personality transplant
We want you leaving having done something, not just feeling temporarily inspired to do it later.
The Pink Nest is becoming the go-to space for small business owners in Berkshire for training. Founded by Laura and Robyn, their goal is to deliver consistent, supportive training that’s practical, manageable, and designed to drive real action (without the overwhelm).

With more than 20 years' experience across brand and agency roles, Laura has worked with well-known names to create marketing strategies that drive real business growth.
Today she brings that experience to small businesses, helping owners understand how to create social media that has a purpose rather than simply posting because Instagram has started shouting at them again.
Laura manages social media accounts herself, loves video and knows how to turn the technical side of Reels into something you can actually understand and use.
She also owns significantly more big earrings than one human reasonably needs.

Robyn has spent more than a decade building and marketing businesses, including growing a multi six-figure hospitality brand before moving into business mentoring, networking and training.
Reels have played a huge part in keeping her own businesses visible, growing local audiences and turning everyday moments from running a business into content people actually connect with.
Her particular speciality is making you stop overcomplicating things long enough to press publish.
She will also happily remind you that the first take of the reel was just as good as the 17th.

Somehow Laura and Robyn managed to cram a lot of information into their course AND keep a fun and light-hearted atmosphere. They answered all questions thrown at them with confidence and a wealth of knowledge and it was great to have the chance to focus on just one aspect of social media (reels). I particularly liked that they offered to live tutorials creating a reel together which you could choose between based on your skill level.
Alicia
Two powerhouses coming together to share so much information in a way that was relevant to my business, easy to understand and easy to implement.
Since taking onboard their strategy, my Instagram account has reached phenomenally more people, gaining me more followers, more interactions and given me the confidence to try new things. Thank you both for such a fun, enjoyable and interesting evening!
Susan
Well structured, extremely informative and great to have a wonderful pair of helpful and supportive business owners.
Kristina
I met some interesting female business owners, some just starting out and some like me, who’ve been in business many years who wanted to learn how to use Instagram, to enhance our business by showing our credibility and expertise.
Both Laura and Robyn gave practical advice, with simple instructions and the reasons for why.
And yes, I’m implementing as and when I can!

STILL UNSURE?
Here are few frequently asked questions, if something you want to ask isn't anwered here, please feel free to drop us an email - [email protected]

This workshop is aimed at new business owners and experienced ones who just want to feel more confident on Instagram. We cover some of the basics as well as more in-depth strategy too. If you don't even know what buttons to press on Instagram and consider yourself an absolute beginner, you may find booking a one-to-one with us more useful. But if you know what to press just don't know what to use and when. Or you use Instagram frequently and you just don't know how to optimise if for your business, then this workshop is for you.
Yes.
We've designed the workshop so you don't need to arrive knowing how to edit an impressive Reel.
You should be comfortable using Instagram generally, but we'll guide you through planning, creating and editing your Reel step by step.
No.
If you're already creating Reels but struggle with ideas, hooks, storytelling, editing efficiently or understanding what actually makes them effective, there will be plenty here for you.
You'll also get time to apply everything directly to your own business.
Yes.
Our Instagram for Business workshop looks at your wider Instagram strategy.
Reels Rookies goes much deeper into short-form video. We'll cover Reel strategy, hooks, storytelling, different Reel formats, filming, editing, the Edits app, audio and practical creation.
If Reels are the bit of Instagram you keep avoiding or want to get much better at, this is the one.
YES.
That is very much the point.
You'll spend part of the workshop planning and creating your own Reel with us there to help you.
Our goal is for you to leave with at least one Reel drafted, scheduled or well on its way to being finished.
Bring your fully charged phone, your Instagram login, the Instagram Edits app downloaded and logged in, and something to take notes on.
We'd also recommend bringing a phone charger or power bank because three hours of playing with video can eat battery.
VIPP stands for Very Important Pink Person.
For an additional £49, you'll get 14 days of Telegram support directly from both Robyn and Laura after the workshop.
You can send us your draft Reels, hooks, ideas and questions and get feedback while you're putting everything you've learned into practice.
There are only six VIPP places because we want the support to actually be useful rather than creating a Telegram group containing endless message notifications.
Because we've never offered this post-workshop support before.
These first six VIPPs will be the founding group and will get the upgrade for £49 while we test and refine how we offer this support alongside future Pink Nest workshops so the price reflects that. It’ll never be that low again!
